There is a program aimed at making the community a safer place – The Olympian Safety Program! The Olympian Safety Program offers a Safety Program for kids and a Safety Workshop for adults.
 In the Kids Safety Program, we teach skills and strategies to heighten kid’s awareness about safety at home, in school, on the internet, and in the community. We also teach kids about playground and cyber bullying, conflict resolution, the dangers of drugs, the myths and facts about sexual assault, and the consequences of gang violence. The lessons in the program not only teach kids how to protect themselves but how to work through and resolve disputes that don’t involve violence.
The Adult Safety Workshop teaches how to reduce the risk of becoming a victim and what to do if caught in a life-threatening situation. The workshop is beneficial to anyone wanting to learn how to improve their personal safety. Once you are armed with the necessary information to enhance your safety, you will be able to better protect yourself and avoid becoming a victim.
Not everyone will be a victim, but in the event you are, you will know what to do to protect your personal safety. After all, much of the problems we face shouldn’t exist, but unfortunately they do, and we have to learn ways in which to handle them.
Our goal is to promote safety and awareness in order to build a community that is safe to live, learn and play.
