Adult Safety Workshop
Does your family have a safety plan? If your answer is “no”, you are not alone. Most people who find themselves in unsafe situations simply don't know what to do or how to react.

The Olympian Safety Program offers a workshop that focuses on safety for adults of all ages. It is a workshop that is valuable to parents, educators, grandparents, or anyone wanting to learn how to improve their personal safety.

The workshop teaches you how to reduce the risk of becoming a victim and what to do if you are in a life-threatening situation. You will learn how to project an attitude of awareness and confidence, self-defense grabs and holds, and how to escape from an attacker using basic self-defense techniques.

It is our view that everyone benefits from increased awareness regardless of size, age or physical limitations.

Topics covered in our Adult Safety Workshop include:

  • the 3 A's of safety
  • how to be assertive - say NO and mean it!
  • surprise your attacker
  • what to do if confronted by an attacker
  • how to stop your attacker
  • what to do if you feel threatened or suspect that you are being followed
  • self-defense - protect yourself and avoid becoming a victim!
  • physical fitness - get your mind and body in a state of health and well-being
  • confidence - how your appearance can attract or discourage an attacker
