Master Albert Smythe is the founder and principal instructor of The Olympian Safety Program and the founder of The Olympian Martial Arts Academy. Founded in 1989, The Olympian Safety Program's core purpose is to teach personal safety and awareness so that each and everyone knows how to protect themselves. Master Smythe has been teaching the program for over 18 years in the public and catholic schools, as well as in the community.
Master Smythe is a 5th degree black belt and one of Canada's few Olympians in Taekwondo. He has been involved in martial arts for over 25 years as a competitor and as an instructor. Master Smythe began his martial arts training in 1980 under Grand Master Choung Young Su at the Young Choung Taekwondo Academy in Toronto. Since then Master Smythe went on to receive many medals and awards.

Avril is responsible for administering and evaluating The Olympian Safety Program in response to the identified needs of client groups and community organizations.
Avril consults with client, communities and organizations to obtain information in order to improve our services. She also reviews feedback and provides advice and update to the team concerning relevant issues.
Avril is a web designer and has designed The Olympian Safety Program's website and many others. She will be responsible for the design and revision of all text content featured on our website.
